It is a commitment to promoting personal, social and health development and support the links between health, behaviour and achievement. It is centred around the whole school environment and all aspects of school life.<\/h4>\n<h4>Awards are for schools to recognise their achievements in supporting the health and well-being of their pupils.\u00a0 There are three levels of award:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>Bronze:<\/strong>\u00a0is awarded to schools that complete\u00a0Healthy Schools Review Tool\u00a0and achieve the requirements.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>Silver:<\/strong>\u00a0in addition to holding a Bronze Award, the school will need to undertake an analysis of pupils\u2019 needs, and identify new actions that will help pupils achieve and maintain good health and well-being.\u00a0This should include one targeted and one school-wide action, and the school will need to make plans for how the changes will be delivered and measured.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>Gold:<\/strong>\u00a0in addition to holding the Silver Award, the school will need to show the impact of the changes they have made and that these are sustainable.\u00a0 The school will need to show how it has engaged the wider community, and supported others to help children maintain a healthy weight, healthy lifestyle and well-being.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>If you would like to find out more information, visit their website at:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthyschools.org.uk\/\">https:\/\/www.healthyschools.org.uk\/<\/a><\/h4>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Riverside Bridge School gained in July 2023 the Gold Award for Healthy Schools. This\u00a0 demonstrates that the health and well-being of the children and young people in our care are well catered for as we focus on the following four areas:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>PSHE including &#8216;Relationships and Sex Education&#8217; and &#8216;Drug, Smoking and Alcohol Education\u2019<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>Healthy Eating\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>Physical Activity\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>Emotional Health and Well-being\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>To achieve this, we showed how we meet the following criteria:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4>the school provides clear leadership to create and manage a positive environment, which enhances emotional and physical health and well-being in school.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>the school curriculum includes PSHE education, Healthy Eating, Physical Activity and Emotional Well-Being\u00a0 &#8211; areas of learning which are monitored and evaluated to ensure the quality of teaching and learning<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4>the school has the mentioned above policies which are reflected in practice and through ethos, culture and the environment.
